Charging Up the Line: Corner Canyon Chargers' OL Drill for 6A Success

๐Ÿ“ Corner Canyon ChargersยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Corner Canyon Chargers' 6A program is gearing up for another dominant season, and their offensive line is key to that success. To prepare for the grueling 6A schedule, Chargers' OL coach, Mike Smith, has developed a drill to improve footwork, agility, and strength. The 'Charger Shuffle' drill involves three sets of 10 reps each, with 30 seconds of rest in between. Players start in a three-point stance, then shuffle 5 yards to the left, pivot 180 degrees, and shuffle 5 yards back to the starting position. Coach Smith emphasizes the importance of keeping the feet 'light and quick' and 'knees bent, not locked.' This drill translates to game performance by improving OL's ability to quickly react to defensive stunts and maintain position against speed rushers.
