Skyridge Falcons' Austin Brown Makes Immediate Impact at Cornerback
Skyridge Falcons cornerback Austin Brown has been a force to be reckoned with since transferring from out-of-state this offseason. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound junior racked up 12 pass breakups in his first six games last season, leading the 6A classification in the process. Brown's ability to read the opposing quarterback's eyes and anticipate the throw has been a key factor in his success. "He's got a great feel for the game," Skyridge head coach Mark Esposito said. "He's able to stay one step ahead of the receiver and make plays on the ball." Brown's transition to Utah has been seamless, and he's quickly become one of the top cornerbacks in the state. Scouts are watching to see how Brown handles the physicality of the 6A classification, particularly against bigger receivers. They're also looking to see if he can continue to shut down top opponents, as he did last season against several top-ranked teams.
