FridayNightPulse Training Tip: LB Agility Ladder Drill for Cavemen and Beyond

๐Ÿ“ American Fork CavemenยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, American Fork Cavemen linebackers can improve their agility, reaction time, and overall game performance with a simple yet effective drill. The LB Agility Ladder Drill involves setting up 5-6 ladder stations with 5 feet between each rung. Players start at one end, then perform a series of lateral shuffles, carioca drills, and high knees through the ladder. Coaches should emphasize proper footwork, keeping the feet close to the ground and knees bent. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps at each station, resting for 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving a linebacker's ability to quickly change direction and stay in front of ball carriers. It also enhances their reaction time, allowing them to anticipate and make plays on the ball.
