DeShawn Johnson Commits to Arkansas
Highland Springs Springers Class of 2025 defensive end DeShawn Johnson has committed to the University of Arkansas. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Johnson chose the Razorbacks over offers from Virginia Tech and Louisville, citing the team's need for depth on the defensive line and the opportunity to contribute immediately. Johnson said he was drawn to Arkansas' 3-4 scheme, which he believes will allow him to utilize his pass-rushing skills. The Springers' standout defensive end also praised the Razorbacks' academic program, noting that it will provide him with the support he needs to succeed in the classroom. Johnson had previously committed to Virginia Tech but decommitted in February after considering other options. He is expected to enroll at Arkansas in January 2025.
