Westfield Bulldogs' S Players Get Ready for the Gridiron with the 'Speed Through the Hole' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Westfield BulldogsยทTuesday, July 14, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To prepare their S players for the upcoming season, the Westfield Bulldogs coaching staff has implemented the 'Speed Through the Hole' drill. This high-intensity exercise targets acceleration, agility, and reaction time. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest period between sets. Players line up 5 yards apart, with cones or markers forming a 'hole' 3 yards wide and 5 yards long. On the coach's signal, players sprint through the hole, focusing on quick feet and explosive acceleration. Coaching cues include 'Fast feet, not fast legs' and 'Keep your eyes up, stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to quickly close gaps and make tackles in pursuit of the ball.
