Bulldog Kicker Austin Young Brings Instant Impact to Stone Bridge
Austin Young's arrival at Stone Bridge High School has been nothing short of impressive. The Class of 2026 kicker, who transferred from out-of-state, has quickly earned a starting role on the Bulldogs' special teams unit. Young's impressive leg was on full display during the team's summer camp, where he consistently nailed 55-yard field goals and demonstrated pinpoint accuracy on extra points. In fact, Young's longest kick of the camp was a 62-yarder, which sailed through the uprights with ease. As a 5A program in the VHSL, Stone Bridge will face stiff competition this season, but Young's presence on special teams has already made him a key factor in the team's success. Scouts are watching to see how Young adapts to the VHSL's rules and regulations, particularly regarding kickoffs and punt returns. They'll also be monitoring his ability to maintain his accuracy and power under game-like pressure.
