Tiger Trench: A WR Drill for D-II Dominance

๐Ÿ“ Middlebury TigersยทWednesday, July 1, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Middlebury Tigers WRs, get ready to take your game to the next level with the 'Tiger Trench' drill. This high-intensity workout targets footwork, agility, and separation skills essential for success in the D-II league. Divide into pairs, with one player as the receiver and the other as the defender. Set up a 10-yard box with cones, focusing on the 5-yard mark. The receiver will start at the 5-yard line, while the defender lines up 3 yards off the line of scrimmage. On the whistle, the receiver will sprint to the 10-yard line, then quickly change direction and accelerate back to the 5-yard line. The defender will mirror the receiver, using a 'bend and explode' technique to stay in phase. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving the receiver's ability to create separation and accelerate out of breaks.
