Tiger Takedown: S Players Dominate with the 'Shuttle Shuffle' Drill
This summer, Middlebury Tigers S players are gearing up for a dominant season with the 'Shuttle Shuffle' drill. This high-intensity exercise targets speed, agility, and reaction time โ essential skills for S players in D-II programs. The drill consists of three sets of 10 reps: 10-yard shuttle runs, 5-yard shuttle runs, and 3-yard cone drills. Coaching cues include: 'Fast feet, fast hands' for shuttle runs, 'Quick cuts, sharp turns' for cone drills, and 'Read the defender, react quickly' for game translation. The 'Shuttle Shuffle' drill translates to game performance by improving S players' ability to quickly close gaps, change direction, and stay in coverage. By incorporating this drill into their pre-season training, Middlebury Tigers S players will be well-prepared to take on the competition.
