Trevon Smith: Slaters' Shutdown Safety
Fair Haven's Trevon Smith made an instant impact in the Green Mountain State, recording 12 tackles for loss in his first season as a Slaters starter. The Class of 2026 safety transferred from out-of-state powerhouse, Lincoln High School in Illinois, where he played in the Illinois High School Association's Class 7A. Smith's versatility and instincts allowed him to seamlessly integrate into the Slaters' defense, earning him a starting role in the Vermont Principals' Association's Division III. As a transfer student, Smith had to adapt to a new team, coaches, and opponents, but his work ethic and dedication paid off. Scouts are now eyeing his ability to read the quarterback and make plays in the backfield, as well as his potential to develop into a shutdown corner. With another season under his belt, Smith is expected to be a key contributor to the Slaters' defense and a top prospect in the Class of 2026.
