Crafting a Dominant DE Highlight Tape for College Coaches

๐Ÿ“ Burlington Sea HorsesยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As a top defensive end prospect, your highlight tape is often the first impression you make on college coaches. To stand out, focus on showcasing your versatility and explosion off the edge. Include at least 3-5 plays per quarter that demonstrate your ability to rush the quarterback, set the edge and stop the run. Use a mix of 3rd and 4th quarter plays to show your endurance and ability to perform under pressure. For example, consider including a 40-yard sack in the 4th quarter of a playoff game, where you beat a double team and bring down the quarterback. Keep your tape concise, 10-12 minutes max, and use a clear, concise narration to highlight your strengths. Make sure to include game footage from multiple opponents to showcase your dominance against different types of linemen.
