As the VPA flag football pilot program expands to new districts in Texas, Burlington Sea Horses girls flag football players are poised to capitalize on emerging scholarship pathways. The University of Nebraska, set to launch its inaugural 2028 season, has already begun recruiting top talent from the Lone Star State. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are eager to build a powerhouse program, and Nebraska's Big Ten affiliation ensures a high level of competition. For Burlington athletes, this means potential opportunities to earn Power 5 scholarships. Additionally, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, offer NAIA scholarships, while Midland University, Nebraska, is actively recruiting. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is also worth monitoring.
