DeShawn Harris Commits to Baylor

Fair Haven Slaters linebacker DeShawn Harris has committed to Baylor University for the Class of 2027. Harris chose the Bears due to the team's 3-4 defensive scheme, which aligns with his strengths as a pass-rushing outside linebacker. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect believes he has a high ceiling for playing time, as Baylor's linebacker depth chart is expected to be revamped following the departure of several seniors. Harris also cited Baylor's renowned engineering program as a major factor in his decision, as he plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. Harris previously held a commitment to Virginia Tech, but re-opened his recruitment in April after visiting several schools, including Baylor, Oklahoma, and Penn State.
