Rice Green Knights Break Ground on $3M Facility Upgrade

The Rice Green Knights, a D-II program from South Burlington, officially broke ground on a $3 million facility upgrade Friday. The upgrade will bring significant changes to the team's practice and training facilities, including a new weight room, locker rooms and fieldhouse. The Green Knights have experienced a resurgence in recent years, posting a 7-3 record in 2024 and a 9-1 mark in 2025. The upgrade is expected to give the program a competitive edge in recruiting, with the VPA's new recruiting rules set to take effect in the fall. The Green Knights will look to build on their recent success with a strong 2026 campaign, and the new facilities are expected to play a key role in their efforts.
