Tiger Tough: Middlebury OL Drill to Build Power and Control

๐Ÿ“ Middlebury TigersยทWednesday, July 29, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Middlebury High School, D-II football powerhouse, the Tigers are gearing up for another successful season with a focus on developing their linemen. One key drill to build power and control for OL players is the 'Tiger Tuck' drill. The drill involves a series of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest in between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively drive forward, 'tucking' their elbows into their body and keeping their hands inside their shoulders. Coaching cue: 'Keep your elbows in, not out!' The goal is to build strength and control in the upper body, translating to improved pass protection and run blocking in games. By mastering the Tiger Tuck, Middlebury's OL players will be better equipped to take on the toughest opponents and drive the Tigers to victory.
