Graham-Kapowsin Eagles OL Summer Drill: Building Power and Agility

๐Ÿ“ Graham-Kapowsin EaglesยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles prepare for the upcoming 4A football season, it's essential to focus on building power and agility in the offensive line. One effective drill to achieve this is the 'Medicine Ball Slams and Shuttle Runs.' Divide the OL into pairs, with each player holding a medicine ball. Set up two cones 10 yards apart, with a third cone 5 yards beyond the second cone. Players will slam the medicine ball to the ground, then immediately sprint to the third cone and back to their partner. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'explosive slam' and 'aggressive shuttle.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the OL's ability to generate power and explosiveness in the trenches, while also enhancing their agility and reaction time.
