Agility Ladder Drill for Linebackers: Elevate Your Game at Graham-Kapowsin Eagles
As the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles prepare for the upcoming 4A football season, linebackers must be ready to make quick decisions on the field. To improve their agility and reaction time, we recommend incorporating the agility ladder drill into their pre-season training. Set up five stations with five numbered squares in an agility ladder. Linebackers will perform a series of movements, including lateral shuffles, carioca drills, and high knees, through each station. Complete three sets of 30 seconds, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include: 'quick feet,' 'light on your toes,' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a linebacker's ability to change direction quickly and react to ball carriers. By incorporating this drill into their training, the Eagles' linebackers will be better equipped to make game-changing plays this season.
