Speed and Agility Drill for 3A S Players: Bellevue Wolverines Style

๐Ÿ“ Bellevue WolverinesยทTuesday, July 7, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At the Bellevue Wolverines, our speed and agility coach has developed a drill to improve 3A S players' quickness and reaction time. The 'Ladder Shuffle' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest in between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then shuffle their feet in and out of a ladder set up on the ground. As they shuffle, they must keep their eyes focused on a designated point 5 yards away. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving players' ability to change direction quickly and maintain speed. It also enhances their reaction time, allowing them to react faster to ball carriers and make more plays on the ball.
