Building a Stronger Line: Graham-Kapowsin Eagles OL Drill

๐Ÿ“ Graham-Kapowsin EaglesยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At the heart of a successful 4A football program like the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles lies a strong and cohesive offensive line. To build this foundation, coaches can incorporate the 'Plyometric Push-Pull Drill' into their pre-season training regimen. This drill targets the OL's ability to explosively generate power and speed in their blocks. To execute: OL players will perform 3 sets of 10 reps, alternating between a plyometric push (explosively extending arms and legs) and a pull (quickly contracting core and driving through the ground). As players move through the drill, coaches should provide cues such as 'quick feet, explosive power' and 'drive through the ground, don't just lift.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the OL's ability to quickly generate force and maintain balance in tight spaces, giving them a critical edge in the trenches.
