WR Prospects: 3A Coaches' Top Takeaways from Junior Day Visits

๐Ÿ“ O'Dea Fighting IrishยทTuesday, July 14, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

When 3A football coaches invite you to a junior day visit, they're sizing you up for more than just your speed and agility. They want to know how you'll fit into their team's system, and whether you'll be a leader on and off the field. Here's what to expect: Coaches will put you through a series of drills to assess your route-running skills, including the 5-yard out and the deep post. They'll also evaluate your ability to read coverage and make adjustments. One key metric to focus on: your 3-cone drill time. A time of 7.5 seconds or better is considered elite for a WR prospect. Be prepared to showcase your film, too - coaches will ask you to highlight your best plays and explain your thought process.
