FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Elevate Your Tight End Game

๐Ÿ“ Graham-Kapowsin EaglesยทWednesday, July 15, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For 4A programs like Graham-Kapowsin Eagles, dominating in the red zone starts with developing a reliable tight end. This week, we're focusing on a drill to improve their route running and separation skills. The 'High-Low Release' drill involves two lines of cones, 5 yards apart, with one line 2 yards higher than the other. Players start at the higher line, then sprint to the lower line, releasing a quick out route. After 3 sets of 5 reps, switch to a high-low release with a 45-degree angle. This drill translates to game performance by forcing tight ends to quickly change direction and accelerate off the line, creating separation from defenders. Use this drill to refine your tight ends' skills and take your offense to the next level.
