Unlock Downfield Separation: Bellevue Wolverines' WR Drill

๐Ÿ“ Bellevue WolverinesยทThursday, July 16, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Bellevue Wolverines' receivers will hone their downfield separation skills with a high-intensity drill. Set up a 20-yard line with cones, spaced 5 yards apart. WRs will start at the line of scrimmage, sprinting to the first cone, then immediately planting their outside foot and accelerating to the next cone. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on explosive acceleration and quick footwork. Coaches will provide real-time feedback on body positioning and separation from defenders. This drill translates to game performance by improving WRs' ability to quickly create space and get open downfield. By emphasizing acceleration and footwork, WRs will be better equipped to beat defenders and make big plays.
