O'Dea Fighting Irish Girls Flag Football Players Eye Opportunities at Top NAIA, NCAA D1 Programs

๐Ÿ“ O'Dea Fighting IrishยทSaturday, July 18, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

With the WIAA flag football pilot district expansion set to create new opportunities for Texas athletes, the O'Dea Fighting Irish girls flag football team is focusing on verified scholarship pathways. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, will offer Power 5 scholarships in its inaugural 2028 season. Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are actively recruiting flag football players, offering up to 12 scholarships. Midland University, Nebraska, also has a strong recruiting presence. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is not yet offering scholarships. Irish players seeking opportunities should research these programs and attend summer camps to increase their chances of securing a scholarship.
