FridayNightPulse Training Tip: 'Warrior' LB Drill for Muskego and 7A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Muskego WarriorsยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The 'Warrior' drill is a high-intensity, position-specific exercise designed to improve the speed, agility, and tackling prowess of Linebackers at 7A programs like Muskego Warriors. The drill involves a series of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then quickly change direction to pursue a ball carrier (cones or a blocking sled) 5 yards downfield. Upon contact, players must quickly get back to their feet and pursue the ball carrier again. Coaching cues include 'quick feet,' 'stay low,' and 'finish the tackle.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a LB's ability to quickly close gaps and make tackles in space, a critical skill for success in 7A football.
