Quarterback Readiness: The Catholic Memorial Crusaders' 3-Ring Drill
As the summer heat intensifies, Catholic Memorial's quarterback coach is putting his signal-callers through a grueling 3-Ring Drill to prepare them for the 4A season. This high-intensity workout targets footwork, decision-making, and accuracy. The drill consists of three stations: a 5-yard passing station, a 10-yard passing station, and a 5-yard scramble station. At each station, quarterbacks must complete 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include: 'Quick feet, quicker release' at the passing stations, and 'Keep your eyes downfield, find the open receiver' at the scramble station. This drill translates to game performance by simulating the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of a live game. By mastering the 3-Ring Drill, Catholic Memorial's quarterbacks will be better equipped to read defenses, make split-second decisions, and deliver accurate passes under pressure.
