QB Quick Release Drill for Muskego Warriors
The Muskego Warriors' quarterback position is looking strong heading into the 2026 season. To build on that momentum, Coach Thompson has implemented a Quick Release Drill to improve QB accuracy and decision-making. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. QBs will start in a shotgun formation, 5 yards deep, with a defender in their face. On the snap, they must release the ball within 2 seconds, focusing on a target 10 yards downfield. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the target' and 'follow through with the throwing motion.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating high-pressure situations and forcing QBs to make quick decisions under duress. By mastering the Quick Release Drill, Muskego's QBs will be better equipped to handle the physical and mental demands of 7A football.
