DeShawn Smith Commits to Air Force Academy
St. Marys Blue Devils tight end DeShawn Smith has committed to the Air Force Academy for the Class of 2025. Smith, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete, chose the Falcons over scholarship offers from Army and Navy. The Blue Devils' standout tight end believes Air Force's triple-option offense will be a great fit for his skills. He also cited the opportunity to contribute immediately as a freshman, given the team's current depth chart at tight end. Additionally, Smith is drawn to Air Force's rigorous academic program, which aligns with his academic goals. Smith had previously considered West Virginia University but decommitted from the Mountaineers in April. He plans to report to Air Force's summer camp in June 2026 to begin his prep for the upcoming season.
