Darius White: From Setback to Starting Quarterback
Spring Mills Cardinals quarterback Darius White has been on a mission to reclaim his spot as the team's top signal-caller after suffering a season-ending ACL injury in 2023. The Class of 2025 standout has spent the off-season rehabilitating his knee and fine-tuning his skills, earning him a starting role heading into the 2026 season. White's impressive work ethic has paid off, as he has consistently shown accuracy and poise in team drills during spring camp. In a recent practice, White completed 12 of 15 passes for 175 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown strike to his favorite target. The Cardinals, a perennial power in Class AA, will look to White to lead their high-powered offense against tough competition in the Mountain State. Scouts are watching to see how White's knee holds up under the physical demands of the season, as well as his ability to read defenses and make quick decisions in the pocket.
