FridayNightPulse Training Tip: WR Route Running for Morgantown Mohigans

๐Ÿ“ Morgantown MohigansยทFriday, July 17, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This week's training tip is designed to improve the route running skills of Wide Receivers at AAAA programs like Morgantown Mohigans. The drill is called 'Slant and Go' and consists of 3 sets of 10 reps. Players will start at the line of scrimmage, take 3-4 steps to the inside, then plant their outside foot and accelerate to the outside. Coaches should emphasize the importance of footwork and body positioning. As players run the route, they should focus on staying low and using their inside foot to cut. This drill translates to game performance by allowing receivers to create separation from defenders and get open quickly. It also improves their ability to read coverage and adjust their route accordingly.
