Kicking into Shape: A Pre-Season Drill for AAAA Kickers
As the pre-season heats up, Morgantown Mohigans kicker Jack Harris is putting in the work to take his game to the next level. One key drill that's been a game-changer for Harris is the '3-Step Ladder Drill'. The drill involves setting up three small cones in a row, spaced 2 feet apart. The kicker starts at the first cone, takes 3 steps back, and then kicks a ball through the second cone. They repeat the process, taking 3 steps back and kicking through the third cone. The kicker then repeats the drill, focusing on quick acceleration and follow-through. Aim for 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving the kicker's ability to generate power and accuracy from a stationary position.
