FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Bridgeport Indians TE Drill

๐Ÿ“ Bridgeport IndiansยทWednesday, July 29, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

AA programs like Bridgeport Indians are looking to get an edge in the passing game. One drill that can help tight ends improve their route running and separation is the 'Speed Box' drill. Set up four cones in a square formation, with the tight end starting at one corner. On the whistle, they must sprint to the opposite corner, then immediately change direction and speed to the next corner, and finally back to the starting point. Perform 3 sets of 5 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet,' 'change of direction,' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the tight end's ability to create separation and get open quickly, making them a more reliable target for the quarterback.
