Thundering Down the Line: A Kicker's Agility Drill for 4A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Thunder Basin BoltsยทTuesday, July 14, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Thunder Basin Bolts, our kicker's agility drill is designed to improve reaction time, quickness, and accuracy. The 'Tornado' drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps: 1) Start at the 30-yard line, 2) Quickly move 5 yards to the left, 3) Plant and kick a 20-yard field goal, 4) Immediately move 5 yards to the right, 5) Plant and kick another 20-yard field goal. Coaching cues: 'Fast feet, slow eyes' and 'Kicking leg, don't forget.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the quick changes of direction and rapid decision-making required of kickers. By practicing this drill, our kickers will be better equipped to handle the pressure and chaos of game situations.
