Thunder Basin Bolts Girls Flag Football Recruits, Scholarship Opportunities Abound

๐Ÿ“ Thunder Basin BoltsยทMonday, July 27, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Thunder Basin Bolts, a 4A powerhouse from Gillette, Wyoming, are gearing up for the inaugural 2028 season of girls flag football at the University of Nebraska. Coaches Liz and Katie Sowers are actively recruiting top talent from the region. In addition to the Cornhuskers' Power 4 program, other NAIA schools with verified scholarship opportunities include Ottawa University, Kansas, Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska. While UT Arlington's NCAA D1 program is in development, it is not currently offering scholarships. As the WHSAA flag football pilot district expansion creates new scholarship pathways for Texas athletes, the Bolts' recruiting pool expands. For rising seniors and underclassmen, now is the time to begin researching and reaching out to these programs to explore verified scholarship opportunities.
