TE Training Tip: Route Running for Cheyenne Central Indians

๐Ÿ“ Cheyenne Central IndiansยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Cheyenne Central Indians, Tight End (TE) players can improve their route running with a drill that mimics game scenarios. Set up a 10-yard course with cones, featuring 3-4 different routes: out, in, slant, and deep. Divide players into pairs, with one player as the TE and the other as the quarterback. For 3 sets of 5 reps, have the TE run each route, focusing on proper footwork, hand placement, and body positioning. Coaches should provide cues on speed, agility, and ball placement. The TE should aim for a 3-step release on each route. This drill translates to game performance by allowing players to develop muscle memory and timing with their quarterback. It also enhances their ability to read defenses and make adjustments on the fly.
