As the transfer portal continues to shake up college football, local Pennsylvania high school programs are taking notice. With top prospects like Bishop McDevitt's star quarterback, Tyler Smith, and Harrisburg's dominant defensive end, Elijah Brown, drawing interest from top programs, local coaches are adapting their strategies to keep up. 'It's a new reality for us,' said Bishop McDevitt coach, Mike Miller. 'We need to be prepared to lose some of our best players to the portal, but we're also seeing more opportunities for our kids to get seen by college coaches.'
