Washington High School Football: 2A Conferences Merge Ahead of 2026 Season

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) has announced a merger between the 2A Evergreen Conference (EvCo) and the 2A Greater St. Helens League (GSHL) for high school football. The move, effective for the 2026 season, brings together schools from the two conferences under a single league. This change is part of ongoing efforts by the WIAA to restructure and realign high school sports conferences in the state. The merger is set to take place as the 2026 season approaches, with Tumwater being a part of the new conference. The WIAA oversees high school sports in Washington state and will continue to govern the newly formed league.
