FridayNightPulse: Tight End Training Tip
As the 4A season approaches, Eagle River Wolves tight ends can take their game to the next level with this specific drill. The 'Tight End Release Drill' focuses on quick release off the line of scrimmage, essential for creating separation and getting open. Set up four cones in a square formation, with the tight end starting at the top cone. On the whistle, they sprint to the bottom cone, then quickly release to the side, running a 5-yard route. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues include 'release, release, release' and 'get skinny, get skinny.' This drill translates to game performance by improving the tight end's ability to quickly get open and create space, making them a more valuable asset to the offense. By incorporating this drill into their summer training, the Wolves' tight ends will be ready to make a big impact this season.
