Lock and Mirror: A CB Drill for Dimond Lynx and 4A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Dimond LynxยทThursday, July 30, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This week, Dimond Lynx cornerbacks will focus on the 'Lock and Mirror' drill to improve their technique and reaction time. The drill consists of two players, one as the receiver and one as the cornerback. The receiver will run a 5-yard out route, while the cornerback must 'lock' onto their hip and 'mirror' their movements. The drill will be performed in sets of 3 reps, with a 30-second rest in between. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the receiver' and 'stay on their hip.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing cornerbacks to develop the ability to stay with receivers in man coverage and react quickly to their movements. By mastering this drill, Dimond Lynx cornerbacks will be better equipped to handle the 4A competition.
