Devon Young Commits to Kansas State
Central-Phenix City Red Devils offensive lineman Devon Young has committed to Kansas State University. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Class of 2026 prospect chose the Wildcats over offers from Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi State, among others. Young's commitment comes after a successful summer camp stint at Kansas State, where he impressed coaches with his athleticism and technique. The Red Devils' standout will fit seamlessly into the Wildcats' high-powered offense, which features a zone-blocking scheme. With the departure of several starters, Young will have an opportunity to contribute immediately, potentially starting at right tackle. Kansas State's strong academic program and commitment to player development were also major factors in Young's decision. He previously held a commitment to Alabama but decommitted in April, citing a desire to explore other options. Young will join a talented group of incoming freshmen at Kansas State, looking to make an impact in the Big 12 Conference.
