The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies, a 7A program with a 2022 playoff appearance, have broken ground on a $1 million facility upgrade. The project, set to be completed before the start of the season, includes renovations to the team's locker room, weight room and training facilities. The upgrade is expected to give the Huskies a competitive edge in the highly competitive Class 7A, Region 5, where they will face off against top-ranked programs such as Thompson and Vestavia Hills. The Huskies are looking to build on last season's momentum and have been actively recruiting top talent in the state, including several high-profile transfers from neighboring schools.
