The AHSAA's pilot district expansion for girls flag football has created a surge in interest among Texas athletes, particularly those from the Thompson Warriors, a 7A powerhouse from Alabaster. With the University of Nebraska's inaugural 2028 season on the horizon, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, the Power 4 school is offering scholarships to top recruits. Meanwhile, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are actively recruiting flag football talent, with Ottawa offering up to 12 scholarships. Midland University, Nebraska, is also a viable option for those seeking NAIA opportunities. As UT Arlington develops its program, Texas-based athletes may soon have NCAA D1 options as well. For Thompson Warriors recruits, this expansion presents a unique chance to secure scholarships and take their skills to the next level.
