Sprint Back Technique Drills for 7A S Players

๐Ÿ“ Auburn TigersยทFriday, July 17, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Auburn Tigers S players are gearing up for the 2026 season with a focus on speed and agility. One key drill to improve their Sprint Back technique is the 'Sprint Back to the Ball' exercise. This drill requires players to start at the line of scrimmage, sprint 5 yards, then quickly change direction to sprint back to the ball, which is placed 5 yards away. Coaches should emphasize proper footwork, keeping the inside foot close to the ground and the outside foot striking the ground first. Perform 3 sets of 5 reps, with 30 seconds of rest in between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving the S player's ability to quickly close gaps and cover receivers in man-to-man coverage.
