Hewitt-Trussville Huskies Name New Defensive Coordinator
Hewitt-Trussville Huskies head coach Josh Floyd has promoted defensive assistant coach, Chris Williams, to defensive coordinator. Williams has spent five seasons with the program, developing a strong defensive unit that has consistently ranked among the top in Class 7A. The Huskies finished 2025 with a 9-3 record, falling short of a state championship appearance. Williams' elevation is expected to have a significant impact on the team's recruiting efforts, as he has established relationships with top defensive prospects in the state. The move also sets the stage for a competitive offseason, as the Huskies look to bolster their roster and make a deep run in the playoffs. Williams will oversee the development of the team's defensive scheme and will be instrumental in shaping the program's identity moving forward.
