FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Tight End Dominance for Central-Phenix City Red Devils

๐Ÿ“ Central-Phenix City Red DevilsยทFriday, July 31, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The tight end position is crucial in 7A football, and the Central-Phenix City Red Devils are no exception. To dominate in the trenches, Red Devils tight ends should focus on the 'Box Out' drill. This drill targets the tight end's ability to seal the edge and create space for their quarterback. Set up a line of cones 5 yards apart, with a defender at each cone. The tight end will start at the line of scrimmage and run a 5-yard route, using a 'box out' technique to seal the defender. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, focusing on quick footwork and strong hand placement. Coaching cues include 'seal the edge' and 'keep your feet light.' This drill translates to game performance by allowing tight ends to create separation and protect their quarterback from edge rushers.
