Bulldozing Through the Offseason: Greenwood Bulldogs OL Drill
As the 6A season approaches, the Greenwood Bulldogs' offensive line is gearing up for a dominant performance. One key drill to focus on is the 'Plyometric Push-Pull' exercise. This high-intensity drill targets the OL's power, speed, and agility, translating to improved blocking and run-blocking in games. The drill consists of 3 sets of 8 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively push into the ground, followed by a quick pull to the side, mimicking a block. Coaching cues include 'explosive ground contact' and 'quick hands.' This drill enhances the OL's ability to generate power and speed, allowing them to overpower defenders and create holes for the running back. By incorporating the Plyometric Push-Pull into your offseason training, the Bulldogs can build a formidable O-line that will be a force to be reckoned with this season.
