FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Quarterback Quick Release Drill

๐Ÿ“ North Little Rock Charging WildcatsยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Quarterbacks at top 7A programs like North Little Rock Charging Wildcats are working on their quick release this summer. One effective drill to improve this skill is the 'Rapid Fire' series. Set up five stations with a quarterback coach or trainer at each. At each station, have the QB drop back 5 yards and release a pass to a receiver 10 yards downfield. The twist: each station has a different level of difficulty, such as a defender in the receiver's face or a tight window to fit the pass. The QB must complete 3 reps at each station, with a 30-second rest between reps. Coaching cues include 'quick eyes' and 'launch the ball.' This drill translates to game performance by forcing the QB to make rapid decisions and deliver the ball accurately under pressure.
