FridayNightPulse: Hamilton Huskies RB Drill for Explosive Runs

๐Ÿ“ Hamilton HuskiesยทSaturday, July 4, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Hamilton Huskies RBs can improve their acceleration and power with the 'Husky Hop' drill. Set up 5-6 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Players start at one end, focus on proper foot strike and explosive drive through the first cone. As they approach the second cone, they quickly change direction, focusing on quick twitch and inside foot strike. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues: 'Drive through the cone,' 'Change direction quickly,' and 'Inside foot strike.' This drill translates to game performance by improving RBs' ability to quickly change direction and accelerate through holes. It also enhances their ability to maintain top speed through tight spaces, making them more elusive defenders. With consistent practice, Huskies RBs will be ready to make big plays this season.
