Desert Edge Scorpions QBs: Master the 'Rapid Release' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Desert Edge ScorpionsยทMonday, July 6, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To improve their quick decision-making and accuracy under pressure, Desert Edge Scorpions quarterbacks will focus on the 'Rapid Release' drill during summer camp. This drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Players will start in a shotgun formation, 5 yards deep, with a defender in their face. On the coach's signal, they must release the ball to a target receiver 10 yards downfield within 2 seconds. Coaching cues include 'eyes on the target' and 'throw with confidence.' This drill translates to game performance by simulating the high-pressure situations quarterbacks face, allowing them to develop a consistent release and improve their ability to read defenses.
