Desert Edge Scorpions QB Austin Anderson Commits to Baylor

๐Ÿ“ Desert Edge ScorpionsยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

Desert Edge Scorpions quarterback Austin Anderson has committed to Baylor University, the school announced Thursday. Anderson, a Class of 2027 prospect, chose the Bears over offers from Arizona State and Colorado State. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound signal-caller is expected to compete for the backup quarterback role behind Gerry Bohanon in 2027. Baylor's pro-style offense, which features a strong emphasis on running the ball, is a good fit for Anderson's skills, and he should have a chance to contribute early in his collegiate career. Anderson was offered by Baylor in April and had been considering the school for several weeks. He had previously decommitted from Arizona State in February after visiting the Tempe campus. The Scorpions, who finished 7-4 in 2025, are looking to build on their success in the upcoming season under new head coach Mike Jones.
