Mater Dei Monarchs OL Training Tip: Building a Strong Anchor Block

๐Ÿ“ Mater Dei MonarchsยทFriday, July 24, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Mater Dei Monarchs OL players are focusing on building a strong anchor block through a specific drill. The 'Chain Reaction' drill involves 3 sets of 10 reps, where players line up in a tight formation and work together to move a heavy chain along the ground. The twist: each player must maintain a secure anchor block while their teammate pulls the chain. Coaching cues include 'dig your feet' and 'push the ground away.' This drill translates to game performance by teaching OL players to work together as a unit, maintain their anchor block, and generate power from the ground up. By mastering this drill, Mater Dei Monarchs OL players will be better equipped to handle the physical demands of Friday night football.
