Valor Christian OLs: Master the 'Anchor' Drill for Dominant Play
This summer, Valor Christian OLs can take their game to the next level with the 'Anchor' drill. Designed to improve footwork, hand placement, and overall anchor strength, this drill is a must for 5A programs looking to dominate on the line. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively drive their feet into the ground, keeping their back straight and core engaged. As they drive, they focus on placing their hands shoulder-width apart, with fingers spread wide. Coaching cues include 'Drive your feet, not your back' and 'Hands wide, anchor strong.' This drill translates to game performance by improving OLs' ability to maintain a strong anchor, allowing them to absorb and redirect defensive pressure. By mastering the 'Anchor' drill, Valor Christian OLs will be well-prepared for the 2026 season.
